Christ is Born! "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." Luke 2:14 - a Blessed and Merry Christmas to you and those you hold dear!
Today we celebrate the feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph! How does your family spend quality time together? Today, consider spending some special time in prayer with and for your family whether you are close together or apart.
Today is the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, a Holy Day of Obligation in celebration of Mary’s motherhood of Jesus. The title “Mother of God” is a western derivation from the Greek Theotokos, which means “God-bearer”. On this day, we are reminded of the role that the Blessed Virgin played in the plan of our salvation through her fiat, her yes to God's will. How will you open yourself to God's will in this new year?
Happy New Year! God's blessings be on you and those you love in 2021.
"Lord, every nation on earth will adore you." - Psalm 72. In today's Gospel reading, we hear the story of the Three Wise Men following the star to Jesus. We learn that Jesus, our savior, was born not just for the Jewish people but for all mankind. How will we live out this great gift in our lives?
"This is the one who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not by water alone, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the one who testifies, and the Spirit is truth. So there are three that testify, the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three are of one accord. If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is surely greater. Now the testimony of God is this,
that he has testified on behalf of his Son." - 1 John 5:6-9
